Winning awards is exciting for everyone, even seasoned actresses. But for Molly Shannon, receiving an accolade for her acting skills is worthy of a true superstar moment.

At the 2017 Spirit Awards, Molly received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the movie, Other People, and her acceptance speech was nothing short of amazing.

Other People is about a comedy writer who moves to Sacramento to care for his dying mother, Joanne, played by Molly. In the difficult role, Molly toes the line between hilariousness and sensitivity in a heartbreaking way.

She started off the speech by being adorably humble and excited, as seen on Hollywood Reporter.

“Oh my goodness gracious, thank you so much Film Independent, I have never had anything like this in my life and I feel so grateful,” Molly gushes.

But before she finishes her emotional speech, she lets one of her most famous characters take the stage.

“I wanna say one more thing,” Molly continued. “I really truly in this moment feel like a superstar!”

Then she lunges and throws her hands in the air, a nod to her former SNL character Mary Catherine Gallagher, an aspiring performer.

We’re so proud of you, Molly! And we know Mary Catherine would be too!
