MLB Teams With Shout! Factory for World Series Film Distribution

Major League Baseball and Shout! Factory are teaming on a multi-year distribution alliance for the annual World Series film and World Series Collector’s Edition box set.

The announcement was made Thursday — following Game 2 of the Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians — by MLB’s Chris Tully, Executive Vice President Media, and Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos. The deal makes Shout! Factory the official home entertainment distributor for MLB in North America.

The agreement provides Shout! with exclusive home entertainment packaged media and select digital rights to both the annual World Series film and World Series Collector’s Edition as well as dozens of catalog films from Major League Baseball’s library. The World Series film includes game action footage and exclusive one-on-one interviews with players, coaches and team personnel.

The World Series Collector’s Edition box set is a multi-disc collection that contains full game broadcasts with multiple audio options as well as bonus footage of pivotal moments.

“We are excited to reunite with Shout! Factory on the distribution of MLB’s home entertainment releases,” Tully said. “We appreciate their commitment to delivering first class films for our fans’ enjoyment and are eager to re-launch our partnership with this year’s World Series.”

Shout! Factory and Major League Baseball previously collaborated from 2005-10 when Shout! distributed the annual World Series films and new content produced by Major League Baseball for the home entertainment marketplace.
