7 Jun – Gwendolyne Fourniol has recently been crowned the new Miss World Philippines.

The Negros Occidental beauty succeeded last year's winner Tracy Maureen Perez during the coronation event held on 5 June, besting other worthy contenders to represent the Philippines at the upcoming Miss World 2022.

In addition to the coveted crown, she also won Best in Evening Gown for her royal blue dress.

This is not the first time that Gwendolyne has participated in the Miss World Philippines pageant, having done so last year and made it to the Top 15.

A staunch advocate for education, Gwendolyne is working with ERDA Foundation to empower the marginalised Filipinos and allowing children to go back to school during the pandemic.

Aside from Gwendolyne, other winners are Alison Black (Miss Supranational Philippines), Ashley Montenegro (Miss Eco Philippines), Ingrid Santamaria (Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas) and Beatriz Mclelland (Miss Eco Teen Philippines).
