Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados to crown successor
23 Oct – Although the pageant itself is no longer under the Binibining Pilipinas banner, it was revealed that last year's Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados will still appear at the upcoming first-ever Miss Universe Philippines to crown her successor.
As reported on GMA News, the news was shared by Shamcey Supsup-Lee, who is the current national director for the Miss Universe Philippines Organisation, saying that the committee of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) has allowed Ganados - the last Miss Universe under Bb. Pilipinas - to make an appearance on coronation day.
"We're so grateful to the BPCI and to Madame Stella [Marquez-Araneta] for lending Gazini to be part of our Miss Universe Philippines pageant. We're praying for it. We're so grateful. Thank you very much for allowing her to crown our first-ever Miss Universe Philippines," she said.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2020, which will be the 1st edition of the Miss Universe Philippines competition under its new organisation, is set to be held on 25 October at the Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio Country Club.
