Coming to Hong Kong theatres on 25 November, Showbiz Spy marks the film debut of Anson Lo, who is a member of the popular Cantopop boy band Mirror.

The movie poster for Showbiz Spy has been revealed, with Lo in the middle, surrounded by four young actresses: Heidi Lee, Chloe So, Alina Lee, and Summer Chan. The youthful movie will feature Lo cross-dressing as he joins a girl group to compete in a talent show.

Hong Kong veteran actor Patrick Tam will also be guest-starring as Dr. K, the superior of Lo’s character Lei Zi-ging. Apparently, he is the one who instructed Lei to become a spy in the girl group, despite his reluctance.

Tam disclosed in an interview with Hong Kong’s on.cc that Lo looked good dressing up as a woman. Lo also reflected that he was very nervous when shooting for the film, and that Tam was very kind and even gave him acting advice.

The young and budding actor-singer added that since he made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2018, there were not many chances to act in films. As such, he cherished this opportunity and wanted to do his best.

Lo is known for starring as Muk in Hong Kong’s remake of Japanese boys’ love drama Ossan's Love. He has since shot to fame, endorsing multiple brands including Calvin Klein. His recent single Megahit was also well-received with almost five million views on YouTube.
