MIRROR goes global with debut English single, "Rumours"

20 Mar – Sony Music Entertainment Hong Kong has announced a multi-project partnership with MakerVille and Music Nation to launch Hong Kong pop sensation MIRROR's international career, with their first-ever English-language single "Rumours" released globally on 17 March.

The strategic partnership will see the 12-member Cantonese pop group expand their reach to international audiences, in a bid to become Asia's top artist – an ambitious goal they've committed to over their careers.

"Rumours" marks the group's first English-language release, adding to MIRROR's catalogue of hits including "Innerspace", "Boss", and their latest single, "We All Are", released in October last year.

Paired with a catchy hook and EDM-influenced tune, the single is guaranteed to grab the attention of any listener. Opening with a futuristic bass coupled with a drum beat that carries into the group's smooth vocals, the track pivots and introduces an ethereal pre-chorus before revisiting the futuristic bass. Highlighting their eclectic sound, the breakdown meets a mixture between the two tunes to give the members the opportunity to highlight their dancing abilities and for listeners to jam out.

Formed in 2018 on ViuTV's talent show "Good Night Show - King Maker", MIRROR has since made a name for themselves in the Cantopop scene, most recently clinching eight awards at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation in January this year, including "Best Group (Gold)" and "Audience's Favorite Group".

Topping the Spotify Albums in Hong Kong, with their debut album "One And All", since its release in November 2021, and with over 490 million views on their official YouTube channel, the group is largely credited for driving a renewed interest in the Cantopop genre.
