Miriam Quiambao admits to have Obstetric APAS

14 Dec – Miriam Quiambao recently revealed that the marks on her pregnant belly seen in one of her Instagram photos were from the injections she had to take for the duration of her pregnancy.

As reported on PEP, the actress, who responded to queries about the bruises seen on one of her posts about using a stretch marks cream product, shared that she was diagnosed with Obstetric Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APAS), an autoimmune disorder that puts pregnant women in danger.

In another post, she also revealed that she had to sacrifice a lot of her scheduled talks around the country as well as her trips abroad as she was advised to avoid long trips to avoid unnecessary exposure to stress and infection.

"I was willing to do this for the sake of my miracle baby but I have to say that I was beginning to grow restless staying in the city all the time," she admitted.

According to emedicine, Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an "autoimmune disorder that is associated with pregnancy complications, including preeclampsia, thrombosis, autoimmune thrombocytopenia, fetal growth restriction, and fetal loss."

It is noted that in previous post, husband Ardy Roberto admitted that Quiambao only had one to two percent chance of getting pregnant at her age and condition.
