Fans of the “Cormoran Strike” book series, rejoice. “C.B. Strike”, a TV miniseries based on the best-selling crime novels written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling – under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith – is set to premiere in Asia.

The miniseries, which will air exclusively on Cinemax (StarHub TV Ch 611), is set to launch with three one-hour episodes based on the first book in the trilogy, “The Cuckoo’s Calling”. This will be followed by adaptations of the remaining two books, “The Silkworm” and “Career Of Evil”, which will comprise two one-hour episodes each.

Starring English actor Tom Burke, the show revolves around Strike, a war veteran turned private detective, who operates out of a tiny office on London’s Denmark street. Despite his physical and psychological wounds, Strike’s unique insights coupled with his background as a military police officer prove crucial in solving three complex cases that have baffled the police.

The debut episode – “The Cuckoo’s Calling: Part 1” – will premiere on 12 May at 10pm. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Saturdays at the same time. The series will be streamed on HBO’s video-on-demand service HBO GO and will also be available via HBO On Demand (StarHub TV Ch 602).
