Ming Dao's brother suspected of murder-suicide

6 Jan – The brother of Taiwanese actor Ming Dao was suspected of committing murder-suicide, following the discovery of his dead body alongside his wife and son Sunday, 5 January.

As reported on ET Today, the 42-year-old surnamed Lin, was found hanging from a tree in a forested area in Neihu, with his 40-year-old wife and their 12-year-old son's lifeless body beside him, reportedly found with strangulation marks on their necks.

In addition, Lin's motorcycle and three helmets were also found near the crime scene.

According to reports, the police have discovered a series of text messages on Lin's phone that revealed his intention to end his life due to his financial debts, which amounted to over NTD2 million.

It is noted that in previous interviews, Ming told the media that he often had to help his brother pay off his debts, and at one point, had to face Lin's creditors at the press conference of his drama, "Beauties of the Emperor".

Calling him a "ticking time-bomb", Ming stated at the time that he had decided not to help Lin anymore, though stressed that he still thought of his brother as a good person.
