30 Dec – It was recently revealed that parts of the proceeds from the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, "Mindanao", will be donated to charity.

Lead actress Judy Ann Santos recently shared the good news via Instagram with a notice about the donation, which read, "Portion of the movie gross earned for its entire run will be donated to the KyThe Foundation."

Based in Quezon City, Kythe Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to help children battling cancer and other chronic illnesses.

The foundation itself is the perfect choice for the movie, as "Mindanao" revolves around a woman who takes care of her cancer-stricken daughter while waiting for her husband - who serves as a combat medic deployed in the southern Philippines - to come home.

The film recently won 11 awards at the MMFF Gabi Ng Parangal, including Best Picture, Best Director for Brillante Mendoza, Best Actress for Santos, and Best Actor for Allen Dizon.
