Right now, there’s a pretty hefty rumor in Stars Hollow that one of the Gilmore Girls is pregnant.
It all started with a simple enough Instagram picture that threw us for a loop. It showed Pop-Tarts and an apple, aka, a Gilmore family staple…and a food Lorelai craved when she was pregnant with Rory.

The picture appeared to be just a ~picture~, but then the rumor started spreading and no one was outright denying it. If it were in fact false, you’d think someone would shut it down right away, right? Well, not in this case — and it’s actually not entirely clear if it’s Lorelai OR Rory who might be expecting.
The latest Stars Hollow resident to weigh on on this matter is none other than Jess Mariano himself. At the Wizard World Chicago the other weekend, Milo Ventimiglia was asked about the Pop-Tarts/pregnancy speculation, and he was quick to admit that he has no idea.

Sure you don’t, Ventimiglia. Suuuurrreee.
“Here is something that you should know about me, I haven’t seen the show in 13 years. I don’t know about Pop-Tarts, I know about poodles. ‘Oy with the poodles!’ But Jess didn’t really say much, or eat a lot of Pop tarts. I know he mixed salt and pepper with his fries. I don’t know, man.”
That could easily be Ventimiglia’s whole answer, but then he’s quick to follow up with:
“By the way, I’m not telling you anything. You really want to know? No you don’t. You don’t want to know anything.”
This is true. As excited as we are for Gilmore Girls, and how we’re craving each and every new piece of information that drops, we don’t really want to know what happens. That will ruin the surprise, and the fun, of watching it ourselves!
Obviously, Ventimiglia knows if someone is pregnant or not. He’s just not telling us, and actually we’re pretty happy not knowing right now. We’re just going to have to wait and find with the rest of the world in 86 days.
