Milla Jovovich's Surprising New Look For Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

We’ve seen her in a flimsy red dress, Mad Max leathers, skin-tight latex and, well, nothing at all - but it seems Milla Jovovich’s Alice has yet another new look in store.

Currently in production on ‘Resident Evil: the Final Chapter’ - which, as the title suggests, is set to close the book on the surprisingly long-running video game movie series - Jovovich shared a selfie from the set which might be a slight spoiler.

If in doubt - look away now.

For those of you still with us - the image shared by the 39-year old actress on Instagram shows the post-apocalyptic zombie-fighting heroine Alice like we’ve never seen before: as an old woman.

Jovovich wrote, “ #nomakeup JK! thank you to @christinaslashes,@andredinoboy, #federicacastelli and@kerry_skelton_ who worked for over 4 hours at 5 am this morning to create “Old Alice” for our scenes today! I will post more pics of the process later! Plus a sexy selfie(not for the weak of heart!)

Tantalisingly she added, “btw, for all those who think this look is for the end of the movie, it’s not!#residentevilthefinalchapter#capetowndiary”

Much as we never anticipated seeing Alice as a little old lady, very few people expected ‘Resident Evil’ to have endured the way it has. The original 2002 film from writer-director Paul WS Anderson, based on the hugely popular video game series, received a mixed reaction from fans and largely negative reviews.

Sequels ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse’ (2004) and ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ (2007), which Anderson did not direct, met a similarly lukewarm response.

However, when Anderson (also Jovovich’s husband) came back on board for the 3D fourth installment ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ in 2010, the series hit a new commercial high - and fifth film ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ followed in 2012, again with Anderson directing.

This sixth and (allegedly) final installment began production not long after the birth of Jovovich’s second child with Anderson.

Unfortunately the South African set was hit by tragedy when an accident left stuntwoman Olivia Jackson in a coma, from which she has since awoken but is still recovering.

‘Resident Evil: the Final Chapter’ is due in UK cinemas on 24 February 2017.
