From Cosmopolitan

  • In a new cover story for Vanity Fair, Miley Cyrus said Donald Trump gave her a call after her now-infamous 2013 VMAs performance.

  • The singer has been vocally against Trump since he decided to run for office.

Remember back in 2013 when Miley Cyrus took the stage at the VMAs to give a performance that is probably burned into your brain for the rest of time?

If not, feel free to take a walk down memory lane below.

Miley just told Vanity Fair that she was staying at Trump Tower when she gave that performance, and the man Donald Trump himself called her the morning after to congratulate her, saying he "loved it," which is slight uncomfy considering she was like 19 years old at the time and her performance was overtly sexual.

“And now he’s our president,” Miley, who joked about leaving the country if Trump got elected, said. “You know, I said I would move away if he became president.... We all said a bunch of shit we didn’t mean...As someone who is so proud of being an activist, am I going to feel proud of myself just running away from, and leaving everyone else here to live under, a completely racist, sexist, hateful asshole? You can’t leave everyone else to fend for themselves.”

Alright, fair enough. Good to know where she stands on the matter!
