Mila Kunis Was Shamed for Breastfeeding Her Daughter in Public

From Cosmopolitan

When it comes to being a new mom, there's not a subject more controversial than breastfeeding. Women are shamed for not breastfeeding, and women are shamed for breastfeeding for too long or too short of a time. And when women do breastfeed, they're shamed for doing so in public. That's what happened to Mila Kunis - and if she faces scrutiny for it, non-famous moms everywhere are basically doomed.

"I support every woman's choice in what she wants to do and whatever makes them happy, but for me, I did nurse my child and I literally breastfed everywhere," Mila told Vanity Fair at the premiere of her movie, Bad Moms. "Why did I do it in public? Because I had to feed my child. She's hungry. I need to feed her whether it's out of a bottle or out of my boob no matter where I was."

But she said people would glare at her while she nursed baby Wyatt and didn't cover up. "People actually looked at us in a shameful [way]," she said. "It didn't matter to me what other people thought. That's what I chose to do, but I think it's unfortunate that people are so hard on women who choose to do it and do it in public."

Mila said that she and husband Ashton Kutcher get upset about the shaming, especially because "it's so not a sexual act." "But I respect the opinions on both sides," she said. "If it's not for you, don't look."
