Mikhail Red is now signed with US-based 3 Arts Entertainment
27 Jun – Filipino filmmaker Mikhail Red is now signed with a US talent management.
According to Inquirer, the director, known for his critically-acclaimed movies like "Birdshot" and "Eerie", was revealed to have signed with the Beverly Hills-based agency, 3 Arts Entertainment, which also manages talents like Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Jessica Alba, and Kevin Hart.
Speaking to the media about signing Red, talent agent Ari Lubet stated that he reached out to the director after only seeing trailers to his films.
"But once I saw the feature films that he's made, I was blown away by his powerful storytelling and visual aesthetic," he said.
As to his plans for Red, Lubet said that he would like to get the filmmaker noticed in Hollywood through his powerful films.
On the other hand, the director, who is currently working on his new movie, "Block Z", shared that he is excited about the cooperation.
"After all, it has always been my objective to eventually transition to English-language works and international projects. Having an agent represent me stateside could only propel me closer to my goals," he said.
