Mika dela Cruz excited about playing the lead in new drama

10 Dec – Two years after she transferred to GMA Network, actress Mika dela Cruz is finally given the chance to play the lead in the upcoming new series, "Kara Mia".

As reported on PEP, the actress will be working alongside actress Barbie Forteza in the new drama, which was previously titled "Dalawang Mukha ni GuadaLupe".

"I'm so excited and really surprised. I was doing "Pamilya Roces" when I was suddenly told to have a meeting for a new show. I didn't expect it. The role is really great and I am so happy that it was given to me," she enthused.

According to dela Cruz, the movie is inspired by a real case in India about twins who share one physical body.

"We're shooting in Bacolod. I'm very excited, and I am doing all the preparations for the role," she said.

And while she plays a villain in "Pamilya Roces", dela Cruz pointed out that she is not playing antagonist this time around.

"The story highlights that even good people will have to choose between good and bad when facing life decisions. Sometimes we make mistakes that makes us bad, but it doesn't mean we're bad people," she said.

"Kara Mia" is set to air in 2019. It also co-stars Jak Roberto, John Estrada, and Carmina Villaroel.
