Michelle Wai wins Best Actress at 61st Asia Pacific Film Festival for "The Last Dance"

3 Dec - Michelle Wai has been named Best Actress at the 61st Asia Pacific Film Festival.

The actress, who attended the event alongside "The Last Dance" director Anselm Chan, said that the award means a lot to her as it represents her determination in the film industry since she made her debut 16 years ago.

"I hope that with this award, more people will know Michelle Wai as an actor. I hope to continue to play more roles and do more movies in the future," she expressed.

She also thanked the director for not giving up on her when she nearly did so herself.

Aside from Michelle, director Anselm Chan also won Best Director, while the movie won four awards in total including Best Cinematography and Editing and Best Art Direction.

The movie itself is doing amazingly in theatres, having broken HKD 110 million at the box office recently.

The 61st Asia Pacific Film Festival was held at the Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel in Genting Highlands.
