Michele Gumabao to represent country at Miss Globe 2018
23 Mar – Volleyball star Michele Gumabao is set to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Globe pageant.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the athlete-turned-beauty queen who won the title Binibining Pilipinas-Globe at the 2018 Binibining Pilipinas pageant held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Sunday, gave a winning answer to a question about battling fake news.
She answered "I know that fake news is very rampant nowadays. But in order to fight this, we must first know what we are reporting, know what we are reading. And at the same time, be accountable with what we say, especially online.
"And I hope that the media always filters and use their resources to always deliver true and authentic news," she added.
Aside from Miss Globe Philippines, Gumabao was also named Miss Cream Silk - one of the special awards given at the pageant.
