Michael Lai says no flowers for Gillian Chung

16 Oct – If there is one thing that Michael Lai has learned not to do when it comes to his relationship with Gillian Chung, it would be not to buy flowers for her.

As reported on Mingpao, the couple recently appeared on the mainland reality show, "Parenting Class", where they spoke about their future plans as husband and wife and their relationship.

Michael, who talked about their courtship during dinner, revealed that he once tried to be romantic by spending his money on a big bouquet of flowers for Gillian to celebrate the Qixi Festival.

While he expected the singer to be touched by his gesture, he instead received a short thank you message from Gillian, who told him that she doesn't like getting flowers.

To that, Gillian stated that flower bouquets are an impractical gift that wastes a lot of money, and that the flowers were already withered by the time Michael came to her place.

In the same show, the Taiwanese doctor said that he observed how hardworking Gillian is throughout their relationship, and since then he promised himself to work hard and earn more money so that he could give her everything that she ever needs.
