Michael Keaton: Batman Could Pulverise The Hulk, Spider-Man Is A Wimp

He hasn’t played Batman for 23 years now but Michael Keaton still vehemently defends the comic-book icon whenever he is brought up.

Which is something that the Oscar-nominated actor has now down twice in the space a few days while out promoting his latest turn in the acclaimed ’Spotlight’, which is already gaining quite a lot of critical attention.

During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Michael Keaton recalled a story where he found himself watching ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ alongside an Apple store employee.

The scene in question saw Peter Parker weeping. This provoked Keaton to ask the clerk, “This is Spider-Man, is he crying?” The clerk responded, “Yeah.” To which Keaton rather magnificently declared, “P**** … Batman would never cry.”

This isn’t the first time in recent days that Michael Keaton has found himself waxing lyrical about just how tough and strong Batman is.

In fact, while out talking to ABC Radio, it was brought up that Keaton stars in ‘Spotlight’ opposite Mark Ruffalo, who is currently portraying The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Obviously, this then led to the question being asked of who could win in a fight: The Hulk or Batman.

Keaton didn’t need much time to think before emphatically answering, “Everyone needs to stop asking the question of who could beat up who. Batman kicks everybody’s ass. And if they won’t, I will, Bruce Wayne will.”

I don’t doubt that for a second Mr. Keaton. ‘Spotlight’ has just hit cinemas in the US, while it will finally be released in the UK on 29 January, 2016.
