Michael B. Jordan Says He “Finally Found What Love Was” by Dating Lori Harvey
Nearly a year after they went public with their romance, Michael B. Jordan is still gushing over his girlfriend, Lori Harvey.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Black Panther actor opened up about finding love with the 24-year-old model and influencer.
Jordan shared that his relationship with Harvey opened up new possibilities for him in his professional life since she helped him tap into new emotions. “There are roles that I passed on that I knew I didn’t have enough life experience to play. I was like, ‘What can I pull from?’” said Jordan, who stars in the forthcoming romantic drama film, A Journal for Jordan. “But I finally found what love was.”
He explained that the pressure of fame and social media previously made it difficult for him to handle a relationship in the public eye. “When I was younger, I don’t know if I could have handled the onslaught of opinions and being picked apart, and also being conscious of what the other person’s going to go through,” he told the outlet. “It takes a special person to deal with that.”
Still, “the situation for me was real enough” to share, he said of going public with Harvey earlier this year. “There’s a premeditated planning of staying out of the way [of the public eye] that sometimes kills spontaneity and intimacy. I wanted to take that away and give this the best chance it had, in this weird world that we live in, to be somewhat normal.”
He added, “Long story short, I think it’s just the timing of everything. It was the right time for me. … I’m happy.”
Jordan and Harvey went Instagram official this past January, sharing PDA-filled photos of each other on the platform. Since, Jordan hasn’t been shy about admiring his girlfriend in the press. In an April interview with Entertainment Tonight, he gushed over his favorite things about Harvey.
“I think a sense of humor, I think the ability to laugh—that infectious feeling, I think is really, really sexy,” he said. “A nice smile and a laugh and a sense of humor is really sexy to me... [She has] all of those things.”
