The first photos of Chris Hemsworth in the Men In Black reboot have arrived.
The 34-year-old Thor: Ragnarok star has been photographed in costume on the London set of the upcoming sci-fi comedy. As with the original trilogy of films, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, the uniform of the alien liaisons remains a classic black suit and tie paired with a crisp white shirt, and killer shades.
This will be the fourth Men In Black film, but the first one not to be centred on Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones’ as Agent J and Agent K. It’s not yet clear if Smith or Jones will make a cameo in the new film.
Thor: Ragnarok ‘s Tessa Thompson will also star alongside Liam Neeson, and Kumail Nanjiani. The as-yet-untitled Men In Black film, which was fast-tracked for production ahead of the in-development Men In Black-Jump Street crossover film, has been written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway who also wrote Transformers: The Last Knight and Iron Man.
F Gary Gray, who directed Fast and Furious 8 and Straight Outta Compton, is directing. It’s not 100% clear where this new Men In Black film is currently shooting in London, but we have contacted Sony Pictures for comment and will update if an when they get in touch.
In a recent interview with Variety (via Digital Spy), Hemsworth promised the film would be “epic and fun”.
“We’re developing the script now,” Hemsworth told Variety.
“We’re basically trying to put a lot of humour in to it like the previous ones. These are obviously some big big shoes to fill, so we’re working our butts off on it to make something pretty epic and fun.
“They’re trying to change up the locations, make it feel unique and different to the last ones as well. So I think you might even see some different countries, maybe. Some different cities than you’ve seen in the previous Men In Black movies.”
The new Men In Black film is coming to cinemas in June 2019.
