Melania Trump bold in yellow while introducing Donald at re-election campaign

In a powerful speech to kick-start the 2020 presidential campaign, Melania Trump revealed that she is “excited” to serve as First Lady for six more years.

The 49-year-old took to the stage at the Orlando Amway Centre to deliver the message in front of thousands of sign-bearing spectators.

“It has been my honour to serve as First Lady of this incredible country for the past two years,” she announced. “And I'm excited to do it for six more.”

The former model also praised her husband, current US President Donald Trump, for his efforts since taking up residence in the White House.

“I'm proud of all that my husband, this administration and our entire family have done on behalf of the American people in such a short time,” she continued.

“He truly loves this country and will continue to work on your behalf as long as he can. All of us will.”

But it was her outfit which really stole the spotlight.

Not one to shy away from bold fashion choices, Trump made sure to be seen by spectators sitting high in the stands by wearing a canary yellow all-in-one.

In a not-so-subtle tribute to the American fashion industry, the First Lady chose a £2,340 Ralph Lauren flared jumpsuit paired with matching Christian Louboutin heels.

With caped sleeves, flared trousers and an open keyhole back, last night’s event proved just another opportunity for Trump to flex her sartorial know-how.

A gold belt, sure to signify success, finished the stage-ready ensemble.

Though it’s not the first time she’s turned to Lauren for fashion assistance, as she chose the US label for the inauguration ceremony in a powder blue ensemble inspired by the now-famous outfit Jackie Kennedy chose for John F. Kennedy’s inauguration in 1961.

Unsurprisingly, the look proved a hit with social media fans, as a number of Twitters users compared her to “a ray of sunshine”.

One wrote, “She lit up the arena.”

While a second added: “Great job FLOTUS, you look radiant in your yellow outfit.”

Aside from her outfit, the speech also provided the perfect opportunity for the presidential couple to display a rare spot of affection.

After introducing her husband to the stage, the First Lady embraced him in a hug before planting a kiss on his cheek.
