Melania Trump Elevates a Classic Black Dress With Unmissable Striped Pumps

Melania Trump joined her husband, President Donald Trump, this weekend to help give US Army Ranger Sergeant Major Thomas Payne the Medal of Honor.

Sitting front row at the ceremony Friday, the first lady applauded as the room commended the soldier for his heroic actions in Iraq. For the occasion, Melania opted for a classic midi-length black dress with a sleeveless silhouette and peplum waist.

The former model then elevated the look with her choice of accent pumps; the black and white stripe pair came with a steep stiletto heel and a classic pointed-toe front, resembling her favorite BB pump silhouette from Manolo Blahnik.

In addition to her striped pair, the former model oftentimes favors towering heels like Manolo Blahnik’s Irene pumps, as well as Christian Louboutin’s signature So Kate 5-inch heels. She has also been spotted in flatter styles from Roger Vivier and Dior. When it comes to footwear, the first lady tends to make a statement in everything from neon orange heels to glitter-accented flats and knee-high embossed boots.

Most recently, Melania opted for a sleek black take on the Manolo Blahnik BB heels as she hosted the hosted a “Recovery at Work: Celebrating Connections” roundtable at the White House on Sept. 3. She teamed the patent pumps to a polka dot dress courtesy of Gabriela Hearst; similar designs once retailed for close to $1,990.

Beyond designer footwear, Melania’s dress collection isn’t lacking in major labels either. It includes pieces from Ralph Lauren and Gucci, as well as bespoke designs from her personal stylist, Herve Pierre, former creative director for Carolina Herrera.
