Meghan Trainor lends her voice to the Smurfs

Grammy-award-winning star Meghan Trainor is releasing "I'm a Lady," her song for the upcoming Smurfs movie "Smurfs: The Lost Village."

The new fully animated Smurfs movie is intended as a complete reboot of the children's favorite and will be hitting cinemas on April 7.

And when it does, movie-goers will discover that as well as singing, Trainor is also voicing one of the film's characters -- ‘SmurfMelody'.

"I'm so excited to be singing 'I'm a Lady' for this movie," said Trainor. "It's a song that I love and am very proud of, and I can't wait for the world to finally hear it! Getting to play a small part in the film with my character, SmurfMelody, makes this all the more exciting! So happy to be a part of the Smurfs family!!!"

"I'm a Lady" is released Friday on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and Amazon. The video for the song will be released on March 3.
