While Prince Harry reportedly insisted Meghan Markle could get whatever she wanted while planning their wedding, it appears the former actress had quite a few requests turned down.

New reports claim the soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex wanted to use air fresheners and hand-held atomisers to help make St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle less “musty” by the time guests arrived.

But sources claim the palace put their foot down about making any changes to the 15th century chapel.

According to Daily Mail, royal staff pointed out that the chapel was a regular place of worship for the Queen.

And they claimed the Queen has never seen a need to make any changes, meaning the chapel perfectly suitable for the guests who attended Meghan and Harry’s big day.

Diptyque did confirm that their candles were using to scent Meghan and Harry’s dressing rooms as they prepared to walk down the aisle.

Just last month, it was claimed the Queen and her grandson apparently got into a heated argument before his big day.

And it was all because Meghan was not allowed to wear her first choice tiara, when officially becoming the Duchess of Sussex, The Sun reports.

What Meghan wants

But Harry wasn’t having a bar of it telling his grandmother – her Majesty – that ‘what Meghan wants, Meghan gets’.

According to a book by reporter Richard Jobson, a royal source revealed 37-year-old Meghan wanted to wear a tiara which featured emeralds, but there were concerns it might have come from Russia.

“Meghan had her heart set on this tiara with emeralds and Prince Harry hit the roof when they were told it was impossible for her to wear it,” the source said.

Queen puts her foot down

The royal insider however said the Queen wasn’t having a bar of it and told Harry “she gets what tiara she’s given by me.”

The queen also reportedly asked why Meghan would need a veil given this would be her second wedding.

The alleged altercation was the result of the Queen wanting Meghan to think about how she speaks to staff members and be careful to follow family protocols, the insider states.

Queen Mary’s diamonds

Meghan ended up wearing Queen Mary’s diamond and platinum bandeau tiara on her wedding day, which she picked from Her Majesty’s collection during a visit to Buckingham Palace with Prince Harry.

The 36-year-old bride wore two classic and elegantly simple gowns, the first by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy and the second by Stella McCartney.
