Following the announcement of their pregnancy, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received an array of thoughtful gifts from fans during their royal tour in Australia, Fiji, Tonga and most recently, New Zealand.

On Tuesday the couple received a big black gumboot holding a bouquet of gorgeous roses, a rather fitting gift some would say considering the royals had done some welly-wanging earlier in the day in New Zealand.

Meghan was seen grinning as she handed the present over to her security, before continuing to greet more fans during the public walkabout at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour.

She was also seen courteously accepting knitted bears and tiny baby clothes, including an All Blacks onesie, from fans who’d lined up for hours despite the rainy weather.

Hannah Sergel, 20, flew from Christchurch, on the South Island, for the event and was left in tears after getting a hug and slipping a letter to Meghan on the way out.

“I was friends with her on Instagram before she had to deactivate her account. We used to have conversations and stuff on there,” she told reporters.

“She would tell me to do well at university and encourage me to be myself. This means the world to me.”

Earlier in the day the couple immersed themselves in a session of welly-wanging.

Joining a group of children from ‘Trees in Survival’ to see who could throw their boots the furthest, 37-year-old Meghan managed to get her red and white polka dot boot closer to the target than Harry.

The couple dressed practically for their 15th day of the tour in Auckland’s rainy Redvale, North Shore.

Meghan wore a pair of J Crew jeans and a AU $462 Karen Walker jacket, teamed with a pair of black Wellington boots for their prior engagement, which involved unveiling a plaque to dedicate a 20-hectare area of native bush to the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.

Meanwhile the Duke of Sussex also kept warm with a long coat layered over a white shirt and paired with grey trousers.

Later on, the couple attended a reception hosted by the Prime Minister at the Auckland War Museum.
