The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have marked the second anniversary of their engagement announcement, which falls today, with a sweet social media post.

The royals shared a trio of images, together with a candid, previously-unseen photograph from their wedding day, on their official @sussexroyal Instagram account.

The photos commemorate three of the couple’s relationship milestones. These include the first photo, taken on the day of their engagement announcement on 27 November 2017; the second taken during their wedding day on 19 May 2018; and a third, taken on 8 May 2019, when they introduced baby Archie to the world.

In the second photo, taken on the pair’s wedding day, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, 38 and 35 respectively, are smiling broadly with their arms wrapped around one another.

The duchess, wearing her custom-made Givenchy wedding gown, is beaming at a spectator standing beyond the camera.

While her hair is worn swept off her face in a loose, undone bun in most of the photos from the day, in this image a strand escapes and falls across her face, giving it a particularly natural, authentic feel.

Meanwhile Harry, wearing traditional army uniform for the big day, also looks into the distance in the opposite direction.

The Sussex Royal Instagram account was first established earlier this year on 2 April 2019. Prior to this, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s activities were chronicled on the Kensington Royal Instagram account, which is also used by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The new social media platform was set up just in time for the arrival of baby Archie in May.
