Meghan and Harry Chose Their Wedding Florist
Although we know pretty much everything there is to know about the impending royal wedding, we haven't been privy to the floral plans, thus far. Well, all that ends today with the #blessed news that London-based florist Philippa Craddock will create the gorgeous arrangements that will grace St. George's Chapel and St. George's Hall on May 19.
As the BBC reports, locally sources foliage will be used, including flowers from the Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park gardens.
As to what types of flowers exactly - well, there was no word, but we know from Meghan's now-deleted Instagram that she loves peonies.
In fact, she posted a picture of a bouquet of pink and white peonies to Insta right after she and Harry started dating, with the caption, "Swooning over these. #London #peonies #spoiledrotten."
Craddock, who is self-taught and owns a flower shop in Selfridges, said she was "honoured and excited" to have been chosen.
"Working with them has been an absolute pleasure," she said. "The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative and fun.
She continued: "The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality and sustainability being at the forefront."
And while we don't know the exact flowers being used, it's speculated that Craddock will use flowers that bloom naturally in May, including branches of beech, birch and hornbeam, white garden roses, foxgloves, and yes - peonies.
Of course, many people will be looking to compare Meghan's bouquet to Kate Middleton's - on her big day, Kate chose Lily of the Valley, Sweet William, Hyacinth, Myrtle, and Ivy.
