Meghan, Beatrice, Eugenie and the Queen: What the royal family wears to Ascot

Whether it’s Meghan Markle’s first appearance or the Countess of Wessex tripping over and being caught by the Duchess of Cambridge, the royal family’s antics at Ascot hit headlines every year.

But it’s largely their sartorial choices that catch our eye.

For Meghan’s debut Ascot ensemble, the 36-year-old wore a bespoke, belted dress by her wedding dress designer Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy. She finished the look with a statement Philip Treacy hat.

The Queen was equally on point on day one of Ascot 2018, in a bright yellow coat and matching hat.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie wore fairly demure looks; Beatrice, an icy blue Clare Michevani number and Eugenie a kimono-inspired Osman look.

Meanwhile Sophie, Countess of Wessex, wore a pale pink midi dress with contrast stitching.
