Proving that there’s good in the world, the Mean Girls cast reunited to raise money for victims of the Las Vegas shooting. The mass shooting left 59 dead and more than 500 injured. Our hearts are still aching over this horrible tragedy, but as the Mean Girls cast knows, there’s work to do.

Since today is October 3rd, aka the day Aaron Samuels asked Cady Heron what day it was, there’s some added synergy to this in the Mean Girls world.

This effort is spearheaded by Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Jonathan Bennett.

If you’re not keeping tabs, that’s Karen, Gretchen, Damian, and Aaron Samuels himself. Their plan was shared with fans via a video posted to Bennett’s Twitter. We love seeing stars coming together to use their platform to help people. And since Mean Girls is such a ubiquitous and beloved movie, we love this a little bit extra.

The four actors have started a GoFundMe page to help provide for victims of the shooting. They’re asking for donations of $3 to meet their $300,00 goal.

“We are working directly with the National Compassion Fund, a program in the National Center for Victims of Crime. This organization collected and distributed funds to victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, the Aurora shooting, and even 9/11.”

More importantly:

“100% of funds raised will be distributed to the victims of Las Vegas through the NCF at the completion of this campaign.”

As devoted Mean Girls fans, we’re happy to do pretty much anything the cast asks. And this is a great cause that we should all try to contribute to in any way we can.
