If you’ve never heard of Maye Musk, perhaps you’ve heard of Elon Musk? The engineer, industrial designer, technology entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

Well, Maye Musk is his mother and pretty successful in her own right.

The 72-year-old was South Africa’s first plus-size model and the oldest CoverGirl model in the brand's history, she’s also the author of A Woman Makes a Plan.

And though all these achievements each deserve a gushing article on their merits, today it’s our glowing, youthful skin that we’re pretty blown away by.

Luckily for us, Musk shared her skincare secrets as a gift to us all for her latest birthday.

Speaking to Allure, the mother-of-three revealed that she has two favourite moisturisers.

One, a modest $400 designer cream - Dior Prestige La Creme Texture Essentielle - and the other, a slightly more modest £13 cream that has a cult following of it’s own.

The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream has won awards, been heralded as a must-have skincare essential by beauty editors worldwide and comes highly recommended by dermatologists, too.

The rich cream restores dry, uncomfortable skin and delivers a surge of much-needed hydration to dry and sensitive skin.

Cocooning yet non-greasy, the moisturising cream contains three essential Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid that work in synergy to moisture and protect skin's natural barrier.

In layman’s terms: they keep your skin moisturised all day long.

And it seems that Musk isn’t the only fan of the miracle moisturiser.

“Excellent product. Cleared my cracked skin & mild eczema quickly. 'Serious' sufferers would require the 'stronger' product, only available in The States, but this is a good softening product which is quickly absorbed in to the skin,” read one review on the beauty buy site.

While another customer commented: “Absorbs really well and nicer than cream more like soufflé, keeps dry skin at bay.”

More like soufflé? Well, that’s us sold - thanks and happy birthday, Maye!
