We ~love~ to love Kesha, and we’re so excited to learn that she may be coming out with a new album soon.

We haven’t had a new album from her in over four (!!) years, but our Kesha new-music dreams will soon come true, Sony Music confirmed, reported BuzzFeed News.

But when?!

“Creating a new album takes time, and everyone’s goal is to deliver a high quality album consistent with Kesha’s past releases,” according to a statement from Sony Music. “We hope to share exciting new music with Kesha’s fans soon.”

Though “soon” isn’t soon enough, amirite?!

And why the long four-plus-years delay?

ICYMI, there’s been an ongoing legal battle between Kesha and music producer Dr. Luke (aka Lukasz Gottwald). Kesha’s been trying to get out of an exclusive multi-record deal with him, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted her.

“I cannot work with this monster,” Kesha wrote in a 2015 affidavit regarding voiding her contracts with Dr. Luke, reported the The New York Times. “I physically cannot. I don’t feel safe in any way.”

Dr. Luke denies the allegations.

It’s been frustrating and painful for me and my family to have to endure false accusations and watch people rush to judgment,” Dr. Luke said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Kesha’s request to be released from her current contract was denied once again in court. Meanwhile, Kesha is bound to Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe label under Sony Music for up to three more albums — unless a judge rules in Kesha’s favor.

Complicated, huh?

But, Kesha did submit 28 songs to Kemosabe this summer.

Sony said that executives from its label, RCA, have been in contact with all parties “to keep the process moving forward,” according to BuzzFeed News.

Kesha has been trying for six months to record and release new music,” said Daniel Petrocelli, Kesha’s attorney, in a statement. “Only in the last month, after our last court hearing, has any progress been made, but it is hardly enough. Kesha still has received no commitments on promotion, songs, or even a release date. We hope things turn around fast.”

We hope, too.
