Maxene Magalona and Robby Mananquil share proposal story

The actress revealed how her fiance's surprising proposal in Japan came to be

23 May - Maxene Magalona and fiancé, Robby Mananquil recently shared the story of how the latter popped the question in Japan back in February.

As reported on Rappler, Magalona, who appeared at a party held by Cosmo Philippines with Mananquil, shared that she had no idea that he was going to propose especially since it was Valentine's Day and that she had never expected him to pop the question on that day.

Mananquil said that he was able to capture the moments on camera since he brought along his tripod, adding that Magalona wasn't suspicious at all since he had the tripod for almost a year.

"So he was like, "Let's take our Valentine's photo", [I said], "Okay!". He said, "Let's do three poses. One, we'll look at each other; two, we'll kiss; and then the third will be a surprise pose"," Magalona said.

She added that she told Mananquil not to carry her for the third pose like a newlywed so not to "jinx" their relationship.

"But then suddenly at the third pose, he just knelt down and said, "I love you so much baby, will you ride this rollercoaster of life with me?"," shared Magaloma.

Mananquil also revealed that he had made his plans to propose since last year, when they were entering their first year of relationship.

As to why it was done in Japan, the musician said that the country has always been a very special place for them.
