Max Zhang delighted "Master Z" to close BIFF

10 Sep – Chinese martial arts actor Max Zhang recently expressed delight over news that his upcoming film, "Ip Man Legacy: Master Z" has been selected as the closing film for the upcoming Busan International Film Festival.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor, who is playing the lead in the movie, said that he was excited when he received the news as soon as he got off the plane.

"With this cooperation with Lord Eight [Yuen Woo-ping], hopefully we will be able to bring kung fu action to different countries so that everybody could enjoy them," he said.

The upcoming film is a spin-off of the hit "Ip Man" franchise revolving around the character of Cheung Tin Chi, who - following his defeat to Ip Man in "Ip Man 3" - decided to live a low profile life, only to get in trouble after getting into a fight with a powerful foreigner.

Directed by Yuen Woo-ping, the movie co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa, Philip Keung, and Dave Bautista.

The 23rd Busan International Film Festival will be running from 4 to 13 October.
