Mary Hon doing fine after previous death scare

22 Nov – Hong Kong actress Mary Hon recently assured that she is doing much better now after previously being diagnosed with meningitis.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared in public for the first time following her illness, said that prior to her hospitalisation, she was having a fever for a couple of days that she dismissed as a small matter.

"My husband insisted that I go to the doctors, and after a check-up, I was asked to be admitted immediately," she said.

Mary said that it was then that she went into a coma for a week.

"My friends said that I was lucky to be awake after a week. Some people would go into a coma for three months because of meningitis. So you should never look down on a fever," she said.

The actress also stated that her husband was very scared of what happened to her.

"I have never seen him being so nervous and attentive towards me in our 30 years of marriage. Fortunately, I have always been someone who exercises a lot and so I have a strong resistance towards the illness and recovered quickly," she said.

Aside from western medicine, Mary stated that she also took Chinese medicine to regulate her body.

"After experiencing this, I now know how to spend the rest of my life. I used to be very busy with work, but now I enjoy my every day life. I am grateful," she said.
