Even the most self-confessed Scrooge among us will perk up at the very thought of Marks & Spencer festive nosh and the high street retailer has just unveiled its 2019 Christmas food range.

So with just 98 days to go until the big day (yes, we’re already counting), what can we look forward to this year?

First things first: the British good giant has introduced the world to the ‘Perfect Turkey’.

According to M&S, getting the main dish right in the run-up to Christmas Day is one of the biggest things customers lose sleep over.

Promising to banish ‘turkey terror’ in the run-up to Christmas Day once and for all, the pre-seasoned and basted bird is all ready to pop in the oven for just two hours - no stress included.

Other noteworthy side dishes include Spanish Pigs in Blankets - a delicious twist on the classic using pancetta wrapped around chorizo sausage with a blossom honey glaze to finish. Drool.

While Prawn Sliders (£7), Mushroom Bao Buns (£7) and Meatball Subs (£7) can be dished out throughout the day.

For those with a sweet tooth, you’re sure to be pretty smug post-shop too. The British supermarket’s Biggest Ever Éclair (£10) will be the perfect sofa treat (in between handfuls of Quality Street choccies of course).

Meanwhile, Colin the Caterpillar fans will be pleased to learn that a festive version of the classic will be available from late October for £10.

But it’s the £12 Sticky Toffee Trifle that’ll fly from the shelves as M&S promises that it’s a dish “even non-trifle lovers will devour”. We’re talking fluffy toffee sponge topped with dreamy custard, fresh whipped cream and sticky toffee sauce.

Ok, winter needs to hurry up already.

Vegans, M&S hasn’t forgotten about you this festive season either.

For the first time, the retailer has introduced an entire meat and dairy free Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. We’re talking a moreish plant protein centre piece with roasties, gravy and stuffing to share with the whole family.

The best part? ‘No Pork Pigs in Duvets’ are sure to prove a crowd-pleaser at just £3.50 a pop.

If you’ve got any room left, a Vegan Root Vegetable Tarte Tatin (£10) will take pride of place on the supermarket shelves.

But what about the booze, we hear you cry.

This year, the brand is introducing shoppers to the Clementine Gin Liqueur Snow Globe (£10).

Sure to be the ultimate last-minute gift of the season, the bottle is filled with clementine flavoured gin complete with edible 23 carat gold leaf pieces which float in a romantic snow globe effect.

While the Christmapolitan (£10) is a festive take on every party-goer’s favourite cocktail and is guaranteed to leave us with a Boxing Day headache.
