Mark Wright has defended his wife Michelle Keegan against online trolls who attack her for her slim physique, saying she “works bloody hard to get that body”.

The reality TV star and presenter said he is frustrated when he reads social media comments urging Keegan to eat or stating she is too slim.

Speaking on the Girls No Filter podcast, hosted by his sister Jess Wright, the 32-year-old said his Instagram posts often attract trolls dissecting the Our Girl actor’s appearance.

He said: “I posted a picture of us last week and underneath in the comments one of them said: 'Michelle, you need to eat'.

“But she does eat. I see her eat. She works bloody hard to get that body.

“I see her at the gym running and sweating, so people haven't got the right to say that.”

Wright and Keegan married in 2015, after getting together three years earlier.

At the time, Wright was best known for his time as a cast member on The Only Way is Essex, while Keegan was famed for her long-running role on ITV soap Coronation Street.

In 2017, Wright took a job as a correspondent on the US magazine show Extra, which led to the couple spending a lot of time apart.

The former reality star has now quit the presenting gig and the couple have been reunited in the UK.
