Video: Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley re-enact classic Yoda and Luke pose

“Do. Or do not. There is no try,” Mark Hamill probably said to Daisy Ridley, after persuading her to let him climb on her back like Yoda in a car park.

The ‘Star Wars’ veteran dropped this little nugget of brilliance on his Twitter page last night, to celebrate his co-star’s 24th birthday.

Accompanying the snap, taken at Pinewood, he captioned: “A long time ago (last week I think) In a galaxy far, far way(@PinewoodStudios ) THIS happened! Happy Birthday Daisy!”

A few excellent Photoshop jobs then began popping up, as one might expect.

The original snap is from 'The Empire Strikes Back’, where Yoda trains Luke in the ways of the Force, while strapped to his back.

Hamill and Ridley are in the middle of shooting 'Star Wars VIII’ as we speak, on the massive soundstages at Pinewood in Buckinghamshire.

Hopefully, he’ll be recording some dialogue this time – he failed to speak in the final scene of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, after Ridley’s Rey arrived at his Jedi retreat to return his lightsaber to him.

The next instalment in the 'Star Wars’ series will be 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, out on December 16.

'Star Wars VIII’ follows on December 15, 2017.
