Marina Bay Sands celebrates its 10th anniversary with light shows, shopping celebrations
SINGAPORE – Marina Bay Sands (MBS) will be commemorating its 10th year anniversary starting tonight (19 Nov) alongside various year-end festivities across the integrated resort.
Using lasers and lights, the underbelly of the iconic Sands SkyPark will see a dazzling display of animation and starbursts. The integrated resort’s ten-year history will also be shown on the exterior walls of the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum. Milestones that have captured the public’s imagination through the past decade will be staged in three-minute shows each night 8pm to 11.30pm until 25 November, at 30-minute intervals.
Visitors to the MBS can join in the festive cheer where a series of joyous activities for all ages, from sumptuous festive feasts at signature and celebrity chef restaurants, to family staycation packages, and retail specials are prepared for the holiday season.
Visitors will be treated with an interactive Christmas experience at The Shoppes – try spotting 3D Santas via a holographic 8K display resolution screen. Three of these booths will be located throughout the shopping mall, with a different themed Santa – Dapper Santa, Gourmet Santa and Joyous Santa – at each booth. Controlled via motion sensors, visitors can select outfits for Dapper Santa to wear, dishes for Gourmet Santa to whip up, or receive virtual gifts of luck, love and health from Joyous Santa.
Spreading the joy of gifting, kids can get a Shoppes postcard at the Santa’s Box and retail concierge counters to pen Santa a postcard and drop them into the Santa’s Box located in front of Hamleys of London toy store. These postcards contain a wish list of handpicked gifts from The Shoppes’ children’s boutiques, where little ones can check off and stand to win. Four winners with the best letters will be picked over the course of four weeks leading up to 20 December.
Award-winning Indian restaurant Punjab Grill is joining in the festivities, presenting its trademark turkey marinated with bold Indian spices, available for takeaway with a two-day advance booking. Take your pick from the Tandoori Whole Turkey (S$138+) and Tandoori Stuffed Turkey with Masala Gucchi Biryani (S$168+) to spice up your festive celebrations.
A five-course Christmas set menu (S$99++) at Punjab Grill, featuring the Malai Tandoori Turkey meatballs, Makhani glazed with truffle, will also be available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for dine-in customers. Guests can also spruce up their parties at home with exclusive festive takeaway specials from Origin + Bloom, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, and more.
MBS is also offering two specially curated staycation packages - the Joyous Family Staycation and the Festive Staycation package. With staycation packages starting from S$319++ a night, guests are entitled to a guaranteed room upgrade and complimentary valet, available for booking until 31 March 2021.
Furthermore, from now until 25 December, shoppers can also look forward to attractive savings of up to 70% at selected fashion brands as well as complimentary gifts with purchases at selected stores.
