Marc Jacobs feels like he is living in his “own movie”.
Fans of the flamboyant designer have been relishing his Too-Torials during the Covid-19 crisis, a series of beauty tutorials on Instagram.
Marc has been focusing on striking eye make-up, something all fashionistas can enjoy – even if they are wearing a mask - and he has loved making the vlogs because its takes him back to his childhood.
“It feels very naïve, very innocent - like how I got here in the first place,” he said in an interview with Elle magazine. “It’s okay to express myself, do my own TV show, and live in my own movie.”
Tutorials have included shimmering pastel Easter Eyes and a smoky eyeliner with a leopard theme eyeshadow. He has even poked fun at his at-home manicure and pedicure efforts.
Marc, who recently released his new perfume Perfect Marc Jacobs, has been making the most of life in lockdown over the past few months.
The 57-year-old designer stayed in a hotel room in Soho, New York, and describes it as a “giant closet” filled with exciting make-up and clothes to play with.
“I’m in my element,” he said during the Zoom interview, during which he wore a pale blue jumper, dark red nail varnish and a string of pearls. “These inanimate things, this palette of stuff we choose to create our identity with, it’s alive, and when it’s not alive, I’m not interested.”
