27 Feb – Mara Lopez was over the moon after winning her first international acting award at the 2020 North European International Film Festival.

As reported on Inquirer, the actress shared the good news on Instagram with a photo from the said festival, writing, "So this happened last night. My first international acting award - Best Supporting Actress in a foreign language film for [Ronaldo Carballo's "Jesusa"]."

Thanking the director and the production team for making it happen, she expressed, "Thank you for trusting me to play the role of Beth."

The said movie, which previously premiered at the 2019 Sinag Maynila Film Festival, stars Sylvia Sanchez in the titular role, a barren woman who comes to her wit's end when her philandering husband moves in with his latest mistress. Left only with her stepdaughters, she succumbs to the sordid ways of the neighbourhood drug addicts.

The movie also co-stars Allen Dizon, Empress Schuck, and Ynez Veneracion.
