'Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya' Fame, Gazal Rai Expects Her First Baby Anytime Now, Shares Due Date

TV actress, Gazal Rai has worked in many popular shows like Left Right Left, Love Story, Palampur Express, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and Meri Durga. The actress is pregnant and is expecting her first baby anytime now. For the unversed, Gazal Rai had tied the knot with the man of her dreams, a corporate businessman, Krunal Sodha on November 11, 2017, in the city of dreams, Mumbai.

On June 2, 2021, Gazal Rai had shared a picture on her IG handle to announce her first pregnancy. Gazal had posted a picture with her husband, Krunal Sodha, where they were seen holding a pair of baby shoes. While Gazal was wearing a cap with 'Mom' written over it, Krunal's cap had 'Dad' written atop it. Along with this picture, Gazal had penned an emotional pregnancy announcement note in the caption, and it had kick-started as "Ten lil fingers, Ten lil toes, with love and grace our family Grows."

Now, in a conversation with ETimes, Gazal Rai shared that she is expecting her first baby at the end of this month. Sharing her due date, she said, “The baby is due at the end of August. It’s the best feeling ever. I am so excited to begin a new chapter in my life. I am thrilled and awaiting the curveballs that are going to come my way.”

Talking about if they have finalised any name for their soon-to-be-born baby, Gazal shared that is a gift for their baby and thus, they have been thinking about it. She said, “We have been pondering over names since the time we came to know that we were pregnant. It isn’t an easy task, to be honest. A name is a gift you give to your child for life and we want to give our child the best gift. We have been shortlisting names and thankfully, we are on the same page. We want a traditional name and hope to zero in on the same option.”

Gazal also shared that she doesn’t plan to take a long maternity break, and will return to work soon. She shared, “I have been acting constantly. All this while, I was dabbling in theatre. In fact, we launched a new play just before the pandemic. Now, it’s been a year-and-a-half since we went on stage. Theatre is a live art and it’s not possible to perform in front of a lesser audience. So yes, I am waiting for things to get normal and return to work. When a good opportunity comes your way, you must not wait.”

When Gazal had announced her pregnancy, she had also talked about dealing with anxiety. She had penned, "I know I know it took me quite some time to post it here and share the big news with all of you. But m sure many would understand the anxiety of a new mom." Gazal had called her pregnancy a 'rollercoaster ride', and had added, "It has been a rollercoaster ride so far and a journey I cherished and wanted to keep to myself."
