Mandy Wong denies being devalued by TVB

21 Oct – TVB actress Mandy Wong has dismissed the notion that the company does not value her as an actress despite already proving herself previously through her multiple wins for last year's drama "Threesome".

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who sat down for an interview recently, stated that despite having her previous dramas not being part of the primetime slot, there are many factors involved in broadcasting decisions. The most important thing for her, she said, is to have the audiences' support.

"I am thankful to TVB, especially producer Poon Ka Tak. He knows me more than I know myself. Every time he has a new drama, he will offer me a role and give me a good task," she said.

Looking back over the past ten years, Mandy admitted that it was not an easy path for her as it took her longer than other actresses to be where she is now.

"But I am grateful for it. Without the experience, there will be no Mandy Wong of today. There is no shortcut to success. If you work hard, you will never feel bitter," she said.

Asked if she ever felt soured by the reality that some other newcomers were given more opportunities than her, Mandy said that everything comes at the right time.

"I like going step by step, laying a good foundation, and achieving my goals one after another. This is the best way for me," she added.
