Mandy Moore has no idea how Rebecca and Miguel get together on “This Is Us”
If you’re a fan of the gut-wrenching family drama This Is Us, you’re probably used to being thrown for a loop. The emotional series is basically more effective at inducing tears than chopping up an onion — and almost everything in the series sparks controversy among die-hard fans. One of those oh-so-controversial plot lines is the relationship between Rebecca and Miguel.
Fans don’t know how they got together — and apparently, neither does Mandy Moore.
And in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, she admitted that she doesn’t have the slightest idea what the writers are planning.

Okay, some context: Despite their struggles, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) seem like soulmates. But, as we all know, it’s “til death do us part,” with an emphasis on death. Still, fans were outraged to find out present-day Rebecca is married to Jack’s BFF Miguel (Jon Huertas). Are you serious?! Add this to the list of ways This Is Us destroys how we feel about family and love.
Moore is keeping her fingers crossed, though, that we’ll soon see how Rebecca and Miguel’s love story unfolded.
“I want to know how Rebecca and Miguel find their way to one another,” she said. “And I know it’s nothing salacious. I haven’t specifically asked [Dan] the details. But myself and Jon [Huertas], we’ve sort of come up with our own idea. I’m not sure if it’s going to exactly line up with Dan’s.”
But, we’ll probably have to wait a while to see what happens. “I’ve heard rumors that the Miguel-Rebecca story is probably not going to unfold until Season 3,” Moore admitted.
And so, we’ll — anxiously — wait for some answers to our many questions.
