Mandy Lam admits hesitation on having children

19 Feb – Although having children would be a great thing for her, Mandy Lam admitted that her health issues have kept her second guessing about a pregnancy.

As reported on On CC, the actress, who survived breast cancer after her diagnosis in 2010, shared that she has thought about having children and giving birth, but that she has a different health issue that would make it difficult for her.

"Although I have no fertility issues and won't have problem being pregnant, I do have genetically high hormone levels," she said.

Mandy stated that she previously underwent hormonal treatments for five years, and decided that pregnancy might not be a good idea.

"I discussed it with my husband, and he was worried that the cancer would recur if there is any hormonal changes," she said.

Despite having no children, Mandy said that she is thankful for her husband, who accepted her during the trying times and continued to be her source of strength.

"He was never a good cook, but when I was ill, he would cook for me every day. He would also surf the internet and share information about my illness with me," she said.
