18 Feb – From January 2019 to January 2020, Hong Kong-based Mandarin Motion Pictures has managed to collect a total of RM59 million at the Malaysian box office.

The film company, established by actor-turned-producer Raymond Wong, has distributed many titles that received strong support from the local audience, such as "Ip Man 4", "All's Well, Ends Well 2020", "Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy", "P Storm", "Invincible Dragon" and many more.

"Ip Man 4" no doubt left the biggest impression recently as it managed to set a new record with its RM37 million local box office collection, making it the highest-grossing Chinese movie in Malaysia.

Producer Raymond was in Kuala Lumpur last December, along with screenwriter Edmond Wong as well as stars Donnie Yen and Danny Chan, to promote the final movie in the popular martial art franchise. They promised to return for an appreciation event if the movie was able to break the record previously set by "Ip Man 3".

Raymond made good on that promise with his returning visit yesterday. Also present with him at the celebration event were "All's Well, Ends Well 2020" cast members Dada Chan and Adam Pak.

"All's Well, Ends Well 2020", released late last month, made RM6.2 million at this year's Chinese New Year movie's box office, contributing to the impressive RM59 million collection.

The ice-breaking and champagne-toasting ceremony held yesterday was also attended by Lotus Five Star's (LFS) CEO Datuk R. Doraisingam Pillai and Director Mr. Garuna Murthee. It was held to symbolise a greater box office performance for Mandarin Motion Pictures and celebrate its continuous collaboration with LFS in Malaysia.
