A man proposes at Jay Chou's concert
23 May - Jay Chou recently became the witness to a fan's engagement after the latter came to the front row near the stage to pop the question to his girlfriend of 14 years.
As reported on Epoch Times, Jay, who held his concert in Nanjing on 20 May; the date that marked the Chinese 520 Day (The Day of Confessing Love), suddenly halted his performance and gave a man in the audience a microphone so that he could share something with his girlfriend.
The said man shared that his girlfriend is a big fan of Jay, saying, "She said I am in her mind only 0.05 percent of the time, and the rest of it is for you", sparking laughter across the stadium.
He added that the girlfriend told him that she would marry him as long as he takes her to a Jay Chou concert.
Asking Jay to be his witness, he turned to his girlfriend, who was still in disbelief, and said, "From puppy love to long distance relationship, from the university to studying abroad, from school uniform to wedding dress, I love you!"
The singer, who was enjoying the event unfolding in front of him, reminded the man to kneel down before proposing - an advice that he quickly took as he stood on his knees, and said, "With Jay and the tens of thousands of fans as my witness, I want to announce to the world that I love you, and will you marry me?"
The woman said yes, much to the delight of all fans.
Jay later continued his performance by singing his song, "Sweet" for the couple.
