So Man Chung: "Line Walker" is independent

21 Sep - Although the first series was produced by Jazz Boon, "Line Walker: The Prelude" producer So Man Chung stated that the franchise should be considered as an independent label.

As reported on Mingpao, the producer who sat down to talk about the new drama, shared that "Line Walker" is an epitome of the classic Hong Kong crime genre, where triads are going after one another and tensions are always high when it comes to the idea of an undercover in their midst.

In the latest instalment, original cast member Michael Miu reprises his role as CIB Senior Inspector Cheuk Hoi, who has to mend his errors following a failed secret mission in Bangkok. On the other hand, the drama will also explain the situation that led to Benz Hui's character Tam Foon Hei's decision to change sides.

"This kind of story can go on forever. It can go up to 3, 4, or 5 seasons with different producers and different actors. We have so much room to do that," he said.

He also stressed that while "Line Walker: The Prelude" still has its Hong Kong flavour, it will not be similar to other typical Hong Kong dramas.

"We're not going to stop for family time. They have family, but there won't be scenes with a bunch of characters sitting down and eating together. It's fast-paced, like an American drama," he added.
