Malaysian artiste Eison Chai found dead in Taipei

18 Aug – Taiwan-based Malaysian singer and actor Eison Chai has recently passed away.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the Sarawak-born singer was found dead at the Luzhou MRT station in Taipei on the morning of 17 August, with the cause of death yet to be determined.

In a statement to the media, his agency Phoenix Talent Company said that they are cooperating in the police investigation, and continued, "We are deeply shocked and saddened by the news. Eison is like a family to us and everyone is still unable to accept the fact."

"We are currently working hard to handle his funeral arrangements and hope that everybody will give his wife some space," the statement added.

Eison had been working in Taiwan for a while now, and had starred in several dramas including "Father and Son" and "Rookies' Diary". He had been married to actress Hitomi Wang since 2020.

He was 40.
